The Mallorca 312 sportive, already a classic among the cycling events on the island, will bring together more than 6500 cyclists pedalling on the roads of the Majorcan island, starting at the Playa de Muro resort and going through the Sierra de Tramontana mountain range.
The competition is scheduled to take place on the 29th of April and has three different routes, so that cyclists can choose the one that best suits them according to the level of difficulty and number of kilometres they wish to cover: 312 Giant-Taiwan, Mallorca 225, and Mallorca 167 – Goldcar. This sportive is the ideal opportunity for those who want to do some cycling in Majorca and thus get to better know the island.
Regardless of the distance chosen by the participants, the sportive starts and ends in the same place, the Playa de Muro resort and runs through the Sierra de Tramontana mountains, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, with one of the most captivating landscapes of the inland part of the island unfolding in front of the cyclists’ eyes.
The roads in Alcudia, Puerto de Pollensa, Deià, and Coll den Claret will test the strength of cyclists riding the Mallorca 312, with an approximately 5050-metre drop before reaching the final enclave: Playa de Muro, playing host to international cycling competitions and festivals year after year.
Moreover, the organisation team for the Mallorca 312 2017 have decided to collaborate on this edition with the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) to which they donated thirty 100 € tickets, and with the “Cierra UNICEF/Close UNICEF” campaign of this nongovernmental organisation aimed at building a better world. This ONG will therefore receive one Euro for each participant and an additional 3000 Euros.
On the official website of JS hotels you can find accommodation in hotels such as the Hotel JS Alcudi Mar 4* which is conveniently situated in Playa de Muro, the start and finish line of the competition that gathers many tourists who enjoy cycling in Mallorca. This will allow you to get some rest before and after pedalling on the Mallorca cycling routes.
